I stood at my vanity last winter, staring at a row of eyeshadow palettes I already owned, wondering if one more would actually change anything. Bellabeautebar is not a new obsession for me. I discovered their formula in March 2024 with the Basic Witch Palette, and everything since has confirmed what that first swatch told me: this brand knows how to make eyeshadow perform. The full line is cruelty-free and Leaping Bunny certified, with most products vegan.
The Dead Roses Palette draws its inspiration from the life cycle of a rose — which the brand compares to the arc of a relationship. The top half blooms; the bottom half fades into something more subdued. Inside you will find 16 shades: 7 multichromes, 2 duochromes, and 7 mattes.
The formula is paraben-free but not talc-free across all shades. Ingredients meet EU eye-safe standards, though they are not recommended as eye-safe under current US FDA regulations. I tend to trust the EU on this — their oversight is simply more rigorous.
What You Pay
The palette retails at $72 USD or €79.50. That breaks down to roughly $4.50 per shade in the US and €4.97 per shade in Europe — a number that becomes even more compelling when you compare it to single multichromes elsewhere.
About Face Holographic eye paints run $19 each. Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glaze-on liquid eyeshadows are $26, and their Moondust singles sit at $25. Indie duochrome and multichrome singles from brands like Clionadh range from €4.44 to €15.89 per shade. Getting seven multichromes in one palette for under five dollars a pop is hard to beat.
The Formula
The mattes apply smoothly with a fluffy brush and build from soft to intense without any tugging. You can pack them on dry or spritz your brush with water or makeup mist to turn any matte into an eyeliner — a trick I use almost daily.
The shimmers are where the palette earns its gasps. They apply best with your fingertip or a silicone brush, both of which press the multidimensional particles flat enough to reveal their full shift. A sticky primer or glitter glue underneath makes a real difference — more on that in a moment.
Primer Matters (Especially for Hooded & Deepset Eyes)
If your eyelids fold, crease, or produce oil, skip the primer at your peril. My eyes went from hooded to deepset after blepharoplasty, and without primer my eyeshadow disappears in 20 minutes or less.

The Shades
Each shade name in the Dead Roses Palette is relationship-themed — Friend Zone, Stupid Cupid, Single AF, Ew. It is charming and slightly playful. My only small critique: the font used for shade names inside the palette is a bit thin to read at arm’s length.

Multichromes & Duochromes
- Friend Zone — pink to gold to soft green multichrome, soft and bubbly
- Not Yours — pink to blue to purple shimmer, glowy and vibrant
- As If — fuchsia pink shifting through purple, green, and gold; deeply shifty
- Ew — charcoal grey base with a red-to-gold shimmer shift, one of those crowd-pleasing multichromes that is surprisingly hard to find
- Bite Me — deeper pink that practically glows green at the edges
- Drop Dead — rose pink with a champagne gold shift
- Be My Ex — red to coral pink to gold shimmer, fun and fiery
Mattes
- U Wish — soft peach matte, ideal for blending out edges or as a transition shade
- Meh — bright rose pink matte
- I Need Space — neon pink matte, one of my top picks in the palette
- Thank U Next — nearly neon purple matte
- ABCDE FU — grape purple matte
- Single AF — muted wine matte, perfect for moody gothic looks
- UR the Worst — blackened purple indigo matte
- Stupid Cupid — warm red matte
- Love Stinks — neutral cool red matte
I also picked up Fairie Tears, a loose pink-to-blue-to-purple iridescent multichrome sparkle from Bellabeautebar, at the same time. It works beautifully as a one-and-done shade or an inner-lid brightener.
Who This Palette Is For
If you love bright pinks and purples, want every major variation of a pink multichrome, and consider vivid matte shades non-negotiable, the Dead Roses Palette was made for your vanity. I wore it almost exclusively when I traveled to New Zealand — the bold, glam looks held up beautifully from morning light through dinner.
If brights feel like too much, the Morally Grey Palette offers a more neutral path and remains my favorite go-to in the Bellabeautebar range.
A good primer + fingertip application on shimmers = eyeshadow that stays as radiant at 6 p.m. as it did at 8 a.m.
Style is not about becoming someone else. It is about finding the shades that make you stop looking in the mirror and start feeling like yourself.
