Primers & Complexion Enhancers
I rarely use traditional primers. I prefer a moisturizer that does double duty, or a product you can layer beneath foundation for a natural glow. Here are the ones I trust:
Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Stick. It sounds like it could be glittery on the skin, but it is emollient without being sticky. Readers told me to use it as an all-over primer base with concealer and powder layered on top — I tried their approach and loved the result.
One/Size by Patrick Starrr Base Thinner. I received a press sample of the Bronze shade and fell completely in love. Mix it into your foundation to sheer it out for a glowy, natural look. The Pearlescent Pink is softer; Bronze gives a warmer tone.
Saie Glowy Super Gel. My go-to when my skin or foundations start looking dry. One pump mixed into liquid foundation gives just enough glow without weighing anything down.
Refy Glow and Sculpt Face Serum Primer. One of the few primers I actually enjoy — lightweight, nothing heavy about it.
The Foundations I Keep Returning To
These are my top four in rotation from Sephora right now:
Dior Forever Skin Perfect Foundation Stick. My most-worn foundation since 2024. Shade 3N is my current match, though I sometimes blend two shades. The coverage and ease of application are what keep me coming back. (I also tried the new Forever Skin Glow formula — it is surprisingly drying despite the name.) See it in action
It Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation SPF 40. Still the best CC+ cream with built-in SPF — noticeably lighter than most CC formulas.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. The new formula performs exactly like the original on me. A naturally glowy finish that does not overdo it. See it in action
m.ph Le Skin Weightless Serum Foundation. I would not call it truly weightless — you can feel it once it sets — but I love the medium, natural-looking coverage. I mix shades 150 and 170 for my match. Demo here
Concealers
I do not always wear concealer these days — my foundations often have enough coverage on their own. But when I do, these are the ones I reach for:
Prada Beauty Micro-Correcting Concealer. Lightweight with medium coverage and a soft-blurring effect. My favorite under the eyes. Demo and swatches
YSL Touche Eclat Concealer Pen. My favorite brightening concealer. The formula is thin and emollient — it will not cover deep dark circles, but it wakes up the under-eye area beautifully.
Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Concealer. Creamy, long-lasting, and does not crease or cake. One of the best multi-tasking concealers I have tried.
Ilia Skin Blur Serum Concealer. A newer formula with solid coverage — not thick, not sheer. It blurs and sets on its own.
Setting Powder
I have narrowed my setting powder to one brand: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I like both the Original and the Talc-Free formulas. It is one of the few loose powders that does not leave a white cast on my skin.
Blush — The Five I Cannot Live Without
I love trying new blushes, but if I had to pick just five for everyday wear:
Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Crème + Powder Duo. Layer the cream over powder or wear them separately. I always bring at least one shade on trips.
Prada Touch Cream-To-Powder Soft Blur Blushes. New to me, and I love them. They are cream blushes that dry down to a satin finish — best applied with fingers. Peach and Tulip are the shades I have tried so far. See them on the face
YSL Make Me Blush. My go-to powder blush right now. The shimmers and mattes are both beautiful, with a silky texture that feels luxurious. If I pick one shade, it is 44B Nude Lavalliere. Review and swatches
Armani Luminous Silk Cheek Tint. The best long-wear liquid blush I have found. It dries down nicely and stays put without feeling heavy.
rhode Pocket Blush. My favorite cream formula for quick, easy application. Freckle and Piggy are the two I take everywhere.
Bronzer
If you buy only one cream bronzer, make it the Dior Forever Skin Bronze Bronzing Balm Stick. The satin finish is perfect — not too orange, not too cool-toned. Swatches here
Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer is another natural cream bronzer that looks incredibly realistic on the skin.
Merit Bronze Balm Sheer Sculpting Bronzer. I initially thought it was too sheer, but going lighter with bronzer has become more flattering on my complexion. Less is often more.

Sarah Creal Today’s Highlights Peptide Balm. The best dewy highlight I have tried — smooth, not sticky, and the glow looks genuinely natural on the skin.
Hourglass Unreal Radiant Glow Liquid Highlighter. A new formula that scores 10/10 for a liquid. Not too frosty or glittery, with a lovely dry-down. Swatches here
Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Liquid. A forever favorite — Peachy or Nude, depending on my mood.
Prada Light Glowing Highlighter Powder. Beautiful, soft powder glow. Swatches here
Eyeshadow
Natasha Denona. Anything from this brand is incredible. I still love I Need a Warm and I Need a Nude the most. Swatches
Prada Dimensions Multi-Effect Refillable Eyeshadow in 8 Pansy. My favorite palette of the year so far. Swatches
Merit Solo Shadow. Perfect for a one-and-done eye look. Top three shades: Vachetta, Glace, and Surrealism.
For all-matte palettes, Makeup by Mario Master Mattes Original ties with the Patrick Ta Matte Palettes. Medium is my go-to shade in the Patrick Ta line.
Eyeliner, Mascara & Brows
Anastasia Brow Definer remains a classic. I also just tried the ArchiBrow Microblade Detailing Pencil — innovative packaging and an impressively fine tip for detailed work.
Glossier Boy Brow Arch Pencil. Great formula, though the pencil runs out quickly. I stopped repurchasing for that reason alone.
Tarte Tartelette Tubing XL. Still the best non-smudging mascara I have tried.
Diorshow Overvolume Extreme Volume Waterproof. A newer Dior mascara formula — and my favorite of the line so far.
Lip Gloss
I am a lip gloss person by nature, which makes narrowing it down difficult. These are the five I keep coming back to:
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer. Dior lip gloss lover for life.
REFY Lip Gloss. The best neutral tones available right now.
Lawless Forget the Filler Gloss. Some shades run too pale, but Cherry Vanilla is my go-to for a glossy pout.
Sarah Creal Lip Gloss. Fresh colors with just the right amount of pigment. I brought these on every trip last year.
Tinted Lip Balms & Oils
I will always make room to try a new lip balm or oil — it is one category where I do not mind splurging.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter. A classic I always have in my purse. The limited-edition duos are worth looking for.
YSL lip products. This is the time to save on YSL — I love them, but they sit at a higher price point. I still remember when Tom Ford launched a $50 lipstick and everyone was outraged. Now that seems like a normal baseline.
Dior Lip Glow Oil. The new formula gives that cushiony, glassy finish I keep reaching for. Swatches in this post
My Go-To Lipsticks
YSL Candy Glaze. Shade 13 is the one, but honestly — YSL delivers consistently across formulas and colors. Top tier every time.
Prada Monochrome Soft Matte Blur Lipstick. Still the best matte lipstick formula I have tried.
Dior Rouge Dior On Stage Lipstick. Iconic Rose is the perfect nude pink.
Gucci Glow and Care Shine Lipstick. A classic I cannot live without — Sally Soft Honey or Julie Blush, depending on my day.
NARS Afterglow Sensual Shine Lipstick. Beautiful glossy finish for when you want shine without gloss texture.
Lip Liner
I am testing several new lip liner formulas right now, so I cannot say which is the absolute best yet. I still love Tom Ford Beauty and Dior for lining, and I will keep you posted on what I discover next.
